Pingsi Old Street
This is the best place to visit and have unforgettable memories, you can find all kind of special authentic local restaurants here, you can enjoy the beauty of architectures or simply walk around and feel the train passing through the bridge above you, or take a rest in a local family hostel and rent a bike for your journey. The old post of Pingsi Post Office
Ping-Shi post office is located in the street of Ping-Shi town; it has the oldest post in Taiwan, and reputedly this standing post has been used since the Japanese period, even earlier than the post office, this kind of post was often seen 50 years ago, but afterward because the size is too huge for urban roads and streets, most of them had been removed, only in the mountain side like Ping-Shi town still keeps the old school post. Ping-Shi post office was established in 1941, it used to be called Ping-Shi You Bian Jyo and then changed to Ping-Shi You Jyu in the year of 1946. Ping-Shi Post Office used to do telecommunications and postal services until two services were separated in 1949.
The Bell of Guan-Yin Rock
Because of the great view of Guan-Yin Rock, Japanese people built a watch house next to a temple on the rock. During the WW2, American air force attacked plenty of military and economic spots in Taiwan, at the time, in order to enhance the safety of coal transportations and keep the air space of Taipei under surveillance, they built the bell of Guan-Yin Rock and sent soldiers there on duties, in case emergency situations happens.
