Shifenliao Tavern is located on the Shifen Historical Old Street and it is one of the famous restaurants in Pingxi Township. The restaurant has been opened for 39 years. During the heydays of the mining industry, there are all sort of miners who would wine and dine here as the miners were highly paid due to the high risks they have to take. Main ingredients back then to satisfy the miners were meat or seafood. When mines closed in 1997, Pingxi became a tourist route, so all the operator decided to develop the restaurant to feature as a localized gourmet restaurants, whereby the restaurant can accommodate several hundreds of people's dining at the same time. The dishes are made with pollution-free vegetables, bamboo shoots, mountain yam, mushrooms, free range chicken and so on delicacies, in order to provide the freshest and healthiest dishes cooked with spring water. This shop is one of the quality stores under the guidance of the Ministry of Economics' Department of Commerce. We are therefore the visitors' and gourmets' top choice. Many of the TV shows have interviewed the restaurant. Our featured dishes are Golden crisp dumplings, stir-fried bamboo shoots, sweet and sour yam, braised tofu, chicken, Niunaibu Chicken... etc.
